NEW STUDY!
Biomarkers in Social Anxiety Disorder
We are currently seeking participants for a research study funded by the National Institute of Mental Health. This study aims to understand behavioral and physiological responses to stress that may clarify biological factors underlying social anxiety disorder.
What does participation in research involve?
Adults ages 18-50 who are not currently pregnant or on hormonal birth control with Social Anxiety Disorder as their primary problem may participate in this study. After you contact us:
- A member of our team will speak with you by telephone to give you an overview of study procedures and to determine if you are eligible to participate.
- If so, we will schedule a visit for an assessment of your psychiatric and medical history with one of our clinician experts in social anxiety disorder (approximately 2 hours).
- If you remain eligible for the study and interested in participating, we will discuss with you the study procedures, risks, and benefits, and alternatives to participation in the study, and we will obtain your written consent.
Once you begin the study, you will come to the clinic for two consecutive days for up to 6 hours (4 hours on the first day and 2 hours on the second day). Eligible participants will be compensated $200 upon completion of the two visits.
You will be free to end your participation at any time.
All information will be kept completely confidential.
